You have worked so hard to plan every little detail! The last thing you want is extra stress and worries that you are missing something or behind schedule on your day! Here are 5 things you can do for a Stress-Free Wedding Day Timeline!

1. Hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator!

Chances are, you have never been married before and have no idea what planning a wedding can entail. I guarantee you that your wedding planners have seen it ALL and want nothing more than to relieve you of any planning stress! Looking for a wedding coordinator for your big day? I highly recommend my talented friends Joy and Mary at Something Blue Catholic Weddings and Gina at Events by Gina Marie. They travel too!

2. Write out a detailed timeline and share it with all the VIP’s involved your wedding day

Having a well-planned wedding day timeline will be the difference in how your day flows. I recommend using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to create an organized and stress-free wedding day timeline. They even have wedding timeline templates for you to use! After this schedule is complete, share the timeline with all of your family, bridal party, and VIP guests. By letting everyone in on the timeline, it helps to keeps all parties aware of the day’s events. Plus, if everyone knows the schedule, you won’t have to be the only one who knows where to go next!

3. Delegate to your Bridal party!

My third tip for a stress-free wedding day timeline is to delegate! You have carefully chosen the lovely ladies to be by your side and they should be more than willing to help you avoid all stress! When a bridesmaid asks you if you need anything, don’t feel bad about giving them a task! The list of “to-dos” before the big day can get overwhelming, but we weren’t created to do life alone.

4. Allow generous amounts of time for in your wedding day timeline

The number one thing that I see brides and grooms get stressed about on their wedding days is being behind schedule! This is often due to not anticipating the time it can take for each part of the day. For example, I always recommend to budget for at least 30-45 minute for family formal photographs and at least 90-120 minutes for bridal party and bride and groom photographs. Even if you end early, it’s always best to have extra time and be relaxed then stressed and rushed!

5. The Day of your wedding – Be at Peace!

The day of, No matter how perfectly you plan, chances are your wedding day may have a hiccup or two! If your DJ plays the wrong song or if a groomsman wears the wrong shoes you will most likely look back and laugh. The most important thing is that you are now married and are ready to start your life with each-other!

Timeline Bonus Tip

Everyone says it, and it’s true. Your wedding day will go by in blink! My advice is to take 5 minutes and step away from your reception with your new spouse. Take that time to have a moment of peace with no one around you. Talk briefly about your day so far and look around at all the people who came to celebrate you! Someone gave me this tip and it was such a sweet and memorable moment of reflection and thanksgiving with my new husband.

Happy planning, brides and grooms! For more information about the wedding day and FAQ check out my wedding experience page !
