Sydney and Jacob’s engagement session at Butler University’s Holcomb Gardens was the official kick-off for spring engagement season! I met Sydney in “person” over facetime when she first inquired and briefly heard about their story. It wasn’t until their engagement session where I got to hear the whole story, and it is a great one! Sydney and Jacob’s story is proof that God’s plan is the best plan and that His timing is perfect!
Originally from Indiana, Jacob began studying at a seminary in Maryland for the priesthood. After prayerfully discerning that God was calling him to a different path, Jacob transferred back home to a local university. His plans were to finish out schooling. Sweet Sydney happened to be studying at Marian University, the very same college that Jacob transferred to! It was there they met, got to know each other, and begin their dating relationship.
In February, Jacob asked Sydney to be his wife and together they are on the path toward marriage! Jacob planned the sweetest surprise proposal for Sydney with the help of some friends!
We spent the most perfect April, spring evening together on the grounds of Butler University’s Holcomb Gardens here in Indianapolis. After a cold and brown midwest winter, it was so awesome to see the first “pop” spring “green” for their engagement photos!
Sydney and Jacob, you two are such a perfect pair and just radiant joy! After just being with you for an hour during our engagement session, I can tell how well you love and honor the other. Your witness of faith and trust is inspirational and I cannot wait for your wedding! Here a few of my favorites from the evening!
