Downtown Chicago Engagement Photos at the Wrigley Building and North Avenue Beach | Erica and Steve

What a glorious evening we had for Erica and Steve’s downtown Chicago engagement photos! This sweet couple met online and it didn’t take long for them to realize that God’s hand was in their meeting. The saying “When you know, you know” really is true! Erica and Steve live in Chicago and love spending time in the Windy City so we couldn’t think of a better place to take their engagement photos. We started their session near the Wrigley Building and Dusable Bridge, you can’t get more Chicago that than! Steve and Erica looked so classy in white and navy which made them pop against the historic Chicago buildings and the gold doors of The Wrigley Building.

Erica and Steve are incredibly kind and thoughtful which made their session extra enjoyable and memorable for me. Getting to put a face to the emails and learning more about their story as a couple is something I always look forward to at engagement sessions. As we strolled through the bustling streets of downtown Chicago and later along the peaceful lakefront, I couldn’t help but feel so grateful for this beautiful job but for the generous hearts of Erica and Steve.

We quite literally chased the sunset down at North Avenue Beach for the second half of our session and soaked in the lovely evening along the lakefront. Lake Michigan was so peaceful and the sunset reflected in the eastern, cotton-candy-colored skies like a painting. Photographing against the backdrop of the iconic city of Chicago really added an additional layer of magic to their engagement photos.

I am counting down the days until their wedding at St. Clement Catholic Church next fall where we will have the privilege of documenting the day when they enter into the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. I already know it will be a fantastic celebration surrounded by family and friends in the incredible city they hold so dear.
